Founder, Executive Director

Siti Hilya Nabila

Hilya is a qualitative researcher by training, a social activist, a lecturer in political science & social policy, and an aspiring policymaker. With specialty in Human rights (HAM), with focus on the institutionalization of poverty, welfare systems and social policy, Hilya has worked for national to global research institutions, from the Lembaga Demografi, Women's World Banking to UNESCO. As a young researcher, her work has been indexed by Scopus multiple times, making her research categorized as one of the best in the world. Hilya also currently serves as the Chief Editor of the Journal of ICESE (Interaction, Community Engagement and Social Environment) at the IASSSF. Hilya will also start her doctoral journey in development studies at the University of Sussex in September 2024 focusing on linguistic and anthropological methods in the delivery stage of social policies for the marginalized. Since 2022, Hilya has also been the only woman to join the independent research team for the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, reporting directly to Minister Zulkifli Hasan regarding developments in trade, human rights and social policy issues.   Hilya however refuses to be defined only as a scholar as she has always cared for social movements throughout her careers from undergraduate up until today. Shantanu Indonesia, she hopes, will be seen as the embodiment of all of her interests that lies in empathetic activism, research, and people.

Consultant, Senior Geographer

Yuniar Zweistika

Zweistika is Shantanu’s senior geographer with specialty in transportation and housing analysis. Throughout her career, Zweistika had been involved in the: 1) RDTR (Rencana Detail Tata Ruang) revision project by Dinas Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang, dan Pertanahan (DCKTRP) DKI Jakarta by conducting research and giving policy recommendations about Floor Area Ratio (KLB) by spatial analysis; 2) research on affordable housing (Rusunawa) price which was delivered as a policy recommendation to Dinas Perumahan Rakyat dan Kawasan Permukiman DKI Jakarta; 3) property market research throughout the implementation of DKI Jakarta’s MRT line phase 1. Zweistika’s practical experience in shaping policy recommendations on the provincial level will surely be a great asset to Shantanu’s mission on developing rurals with the right & sensible spatial analyses.

Head of Fundraising

Ansar Ahmad

Ansar Ahmad stands as a seasoned professional in the realm of fundraising, currently assuming the pivotal role of Head of Fundraising at Shantanu. With a robust background in philanthropic endeavors and corporate partnerships, Ansar has showcased his adeptness in mobilizing funds for noble social causes. Previously, Ansar swiftly spearheaded a strategic partnership between LBH Jakarta and Grab Indonesia within a mere three months of becoming a fundraiser at LBH Jakarta. His contributions extend beyond this feat, as he successfully crafted the most widely reached and admired fundraising content on LBH Jakarta's Instagram platform. Notably, this content garnered millions of rupiah in donations, making it one of the most prolific fundraising contents ever generated by LBH Jakarta. Ansar's expertise transcends formal work environments. Following his volunteer work, he was appointed as the Fundraising Director at Humanity First Indonesia. Here, he significantly augmented audience reach in an orphan care fundraising campaign by 30% in less than three months, while also producing self-made Instagram Reels that ranked among the top five most-watched on Humanity First Indonesia's platform. Graduating with honors from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia underscores Ansar's academic excellence. During his academic tenure, Ansar distinguished himself as the Faculty of Law's 2023 Most Outstanding Student in the Publication Field, adding a potent dimension of communication prowess to his fundraising skill set. Driven by personal interests in social welfare, communication, and resource mobilization, Ansar is resolute in his mission to pool resources aimed at alleviating extreme poverty and economic disparities in Indonesia under the auspices of Shantanu. With unwavering dedication and a wealth of experience, Ansar is poised to lead impactful and effective fundraising endeavors within the company.

Head of Activism

Mandala Satya

Rahardian Satya Mandala Putra is the Head of the Activism Department at Shantanu Indonesia who has a passion for the world of activism. Previously, Mandala was an Assistant Public Lawyer at LBH Jakarta and did an internship at the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS). During his work, Mandala helped numerous grassroots communities with structural legal aid work, one of which was providing legal assistance to victims of torture by law enforcement officers and helping people whose rights were taken away by corporations.   Apart from that, Mandala was also Chair of the BEM of the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University, where he led more than 150 people and was able to create programs that were beneficial to those around the university, such as free legal counseling and development programs for underdeveloped villages surrounding the city in which the university resides. For Mandala, activism work is one of the easiest ways to implement his aspirations for his homecountry Indonesia: social welfare for all.
